Kawasaki P-1 is next generation maritime patrol aircraft for Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force.
Development program started 2001 as a replacement for JMSDF's P-3C, first flight at Gifu Air Base on September 28 2007.
P-1 shared development's resource and airframe parts with JASDF's next generation transporter C-2.

F7-10 is high bypass ratio turbofan engine which developed IHI, designed exclusive use for P-1.
Engine core based low bypass ratio turbofan engine XF5, fan changed large size for high bypass ratio.
Performance about SFC and environment's improvement, material selected strong alloys for salt damage.

Cockpit windows are shared with C-2.
Fujitsu's FLIR HAQ-2 mounted under nose, mount type as like P-3.
There is active IFF antenna ahead windows, its arrangement under rear body too.
Missile warning sensor mounted nose side, and rear side.
Front over top doom is ESM antenna, rear doom for SATCOM.

All units costs about 892.8 billion yen is 39.1% of total LCC, operation costs 1,089.5 billion yen is 47.7%.
Development costs about 345 billion yen include C-2, P-1's allocation costs are about 186.6 billion yen and 8.2% of LCC without C-2.
Include other test costs 247.4 billion yen, this is 10.8% of LCC.
Technology research costs about 55.3 billion yen are 2.4% of LCC.
