The solid 41.5 mm. diameter three-body case is polished and brushed with downturned lugs, a bi-directional rotating bezel, and a gold-toned high relief circle on the solid case back. It has a sapphire scratch resistant crystal and patented locking dual crowns at the 2 and 4 o'clock positions; they are equipped with external butterfly collars that turn 1/2 turn clock-wise & counter clock-wise to insure the gaskets have a watertight closure. A white arrow indicates the crown is secure/water resistant, and a red arrow indicates the crown is non-secured. The dial is black with luminous trapeze hands, an outer luminous dot minute/second track, Arabic hour numeral indexes at 9 and12 o'clock, and arrow index hour markers. There is a central sweep seconds hand and a date aperture at 3 o'clock. A second time zone subsidiary dial is between the 6 and 8 o'clock positions (with a Quick Set Adjustment crown), and there is a diurnal/nocturnal register at 9 o'clock. Regular time & date functions are set by the bottom crown. A world time arc display with major capitols is at 6 o'clock. It's water resistant to 100 meters (330 feet), and there is a 43-hour power reserve. The 13.9mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. It's constructed with a straight-line lever escapement, a shock absorber mechanism, and a monometallic balance that's adjusted to 6 positions. It includes a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a central hacking seconds mechanism. The case, dial, and movement are all signed. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). The Jaeger LeCoultre Master Compressor Geographic Q1718470 was introduced in the 2000's; the first Geographique debuted in 1990.
