B&M has opened on Cathedral Lanes in Coventry
B&M has opened its hugely-anticipated new store on Cathedral Lanes in Coventry. It welcomed customers for the first time today (Friday, February 2).
Shoppers have shared their excitement about the opening of the new B&M on Cathedral Lanes. It has taken over the former Wilko which closed for good in October 2023.
Contractors have spent the past few months refurbishing the building ahead of the long-awaited opening today (February 2). Bosses say the new city-centre-based store has created more than 35 jobs.

Customers can expect to find a wide variety of groceries, including a range of food, drink and pet food. Bosses have promised that there will also be a 'fantastic' range of health and beauty products, electricals as well as toys and gifts, from leading brands, including Disney, Marvel and Peppa Pig.
Staff were asked to nominate a local charity to open the new store and decided to go for Coventry Foodbank. B&M gave the city-based charity £250 worth of vouchers to use in-store to 'help them continue doing the great work they do.'
Shoppers can visit the new city-centre-based store between 8am and 8pm from Monday to Saturday. It will open from 10.30am to 4.30pm on Sundays.
A spokesman for B&M said: “It was really exciting to welcome customers through the doors; the feedback so far has been fantastic. A big thank you to the team at the Coventry Foodbank who helped us open the store; we hope that our donation can help them to continue to do the great work they do.”
